About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

I GOT SOME EARLY BIRTHDAY PRESENTS!

Today, after much complaining about our living room couch from both of us, my husband decided that we needed to go furniture shopping.  I couldn't believe he actually said it!  Our old couch had totally caved in.  It was a "sleeper couch", and the frame of the bed had broken down inside, making it so that all the cushions on top sank down into the couch when anyone sat on it.  We had added pillows to the seats and  the back, but still it was just plain miserable to sit on.  My sister wanted to go with us, so we all piled into the truck, and off we went to Knoxville to look for this one furniture store that my sister-in-law said they really liked.  We drove all up and down the road it was supposed to be on, looking for a place called "West Furniture" and couldn't find the place.  Finally, Norm (my husband) wised up and called his sister for further instructions.  As it turned out, It was Bill Cox Furniture on west Kingston Pike.  After clearing that up, we found it easily.

We ended up buying a sectional, wine-colored  leather set with electric reclining seats built it.  Soooo comfortable!  They didn't have that color in stock, so we had to order it, and it will be here in 3-4 weeks.  I'm so excited!  We haven't had new furniture in years.  When we got home, my sister and I even went out and bought new curtains for the back glass door in the TV room.  We're going to have to move the TV to the other end of the room now to make room for all the new furniture.  No problem.
