The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

KNEE PAIN IS A BUMMER!!
I have been out of commission for a week due to a sprained right knee. I stupidly thought I could save myself a trip outside to get a step-ladder by standing on the sleep number mattress of our bed to clean the blades of our ceiling fan. Bad decision!! The bed was wobbly and squishy and my leg twisted and gave out from under me, and I landed wonkey on my knee. It has been killing me ever since. In fact, I can hardly walk. I have been sitting here in our living room in my recliner with a heating pad on my knee, but it has only helped a little bit. I'm supposed to stay off of it, but there are just things around the house that I have to get done. I ventured off to the grocery store today, because our cupboards were really getting kind of bare. Now that that chore is over, hopefully I can sit here and heal for a few more days. Otherwise, it's off to the orthopaedist I go. I do have all my mini-album projects finished, so that's good, and I'm learning how to use my new Cricut Explore. What an awesome machine! Happy Easter or Passover to you all. Judy

I AM A NEW WOMAN!
Today Laura (my daughter) and I went out for a day of beauty and shopping. We both got our hair cut and styled at 10:00 A.M., then went to lunch, and then after that we went shopping. I bought my husband a couple of nice fishing shirts and a really neat discounted lightweight fleece jacket that I hope he loves. Then I bought myself a pair of new shoes. It felt good to get out in this beautiful weather. However, in three days I will be heading back to Tennessee and the cold weather. Laura is feeling pretty good now, so she really doesn't need me too much - except to pick things up off the floor, and she ets her drains out tomorrow. I'm glad in one way an sad in another. On a good note, we've about gotten rid of all the lasagna and are cooking for ourselves again.

SURGERY IS OVER AND THE PATIENT IS HOME
Yesterday was my daughter's surgery, and she came home today. All is well, and hopefully we can all get a good night's sleep tonight - although I'm not really very tired. She has done quite well, and it wasn't a very invasive surgery, so I think her recovery will be rapid. Thank you for all of your prayers for her. Much love to everyone.

I GET TO TAKE A BATH AND WASH MY HAIR!
I'm so excited! Tonight I get to take a shower and wash my hair. Isn't it funny how the basic things like that can make us so happy? It makes me think of all the people in world, even in the US, who don't get to bathe and wash their hair regularly. Water is so precious that it just can't be wasted on basic cleanliness. All of these things we get to take for granted, and it makes me thankful that I live in a land where we do have warm, running water to wash in, and safe water to drink. I know that there are people in our country that still don't have indoor plumbing or acsess to these basic luxeries, but, fortunately, most of us do. Let us remember during this season those less fortunate in our country and other countries all over the world. Let us pray for Peace in the Middle East. This is where Christianity began. Surely it can return there again.
