WE HAVE CANCELLED OUR TRIP!

The stupid old Hurricane Irene has done us in, as far as our trip goes. We had to cancel this week-end and are trying to re-schedule the trip for Sept. 15th or Sept. 22nd. (2nd choice). I think we made a wise decision, because the weather up in Boston for the next 4-5 days is going to be pretty awful. Fortunately, I had taken out trip insurance, so it didn't cost us anything to change the tour date, but it did cost us $100 to change our air reservations.

On a cheerier note, three of our Monarch caterpillars successfully turned into butterflies, and I got some pictures of them. For the first hour or so, they don't fly, so one was very happy to sit on my hand or my finger. Enjoy the pics

Deep Sea Fishing - No Fish!

Today we took a boat out to go deep sea fishing - something we used to love to do when we lived in Florida.  The weather was cool for South Florida (in the 60's), and the seas were choppy at 2-4 feet.  That means the boat was rockin' and rollin' but not tossin' and turnin'.  We were going to ask my sister to go with us, but she gets seasick even when it's just a little wavey, so it's a good thing she wasn't along, or else we would have all been miserable.  There are a lot of sharks out in the ocean close to shore right now, because they're migrating to their breeding grounds, but we weren't wanting to catch a shark.  My daughter wanted to catch something to eat for supper - like mahi mahi or kingfish, but, alas, that was not to be.  There were no fish on this day for us, but I took some videos and a lot of pictures, which I will have to wait and post when I get home because I can't use my daughter's computer with my flip camera.  Despite our lack of fish, we had a great time and it was a beautiful day.
