About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

HOME AND BACK INTO THE SWING OF NORMAL LIFE AGAIN

Ahhhhh, it's good to be home again.  Don't get me wrong, it's great to get away for a few days to do the things I love to do and have "girlfriend" time, but it's just so nice to kick  back in our new lounge chairs and watch our new "smart" TV.  DirecTV came and hooked it up yesterday, and the first thing we found out was that it's a lot smarter than we are!  There are so many things we are supposed to be able to do with this TV, that it makes my head spin.  With one click of the remote, we totally screwed up our TV watching for the whole evening - and that's the truth!  We got on some screen with little squares of available channels, but we weren't able to get to any of them.  Finally frustration sent us both to bed in bad moods, and when we got up, the frustration with that weird screen started all over again.  Finally, I spent the morning on the phone with DirecTV and convinced them to send a tech. out on Thursday morning to re-program our remote and give us a lesson on how to work the thing.  I feel like a failure!   Do any of you have one of the new smart TV's?  Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow I'm going to be filming a video of a new mini-book I made while I was on our retreat.  It's already bought and paid for, but I wanted to show it to everyone before I mail it off.  Please stay tuned!

MY FRUSTRATION KNOWS NO BOUNDS!

Alas, my YouTube upload has failed again!!  It was a 39 minute video, and I am authorized to upload more that the usual 15 minutes worth.  However, during the night my computer decided to install upgrades, and then, after that, it restarted, so I think that screwed everything up.  I am so frustrated over this!  I think from now on, I'm going to limit my videos to no more than 10 minutes, and do 2 or 3 times as many to get it all in.  Sorry about that, but that's all I can think of to do.  Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do?  I have Google Chrome, but that seems to take just as long.

SOMETHING NEW I LEARNED ABOUT MY GYPSY

Today I learned how to download a Gypsy file from someone else and put it on to my Gypsy.  I am again working on another patriotic project, and I needed the file that was on the instructions.  Kathy, from PaperPhenomenon, posted the file on her blog, then I downloaded the file (all in hypertext, of course) to my desktop, plugged in my trusty and somewhat dusty Gypsy, clicked on Cricut Sync, and, when it asked me if I wanted to add a new project, I browsed my downloads and clicked on it.  That's all there was too it.  Don't you just love it when things work right?  So many times I screw up when I'm doing things on the computer, and it gets me all frustrated.  But this actually worked right.  Yeah!  I hear thunder in the distance, so we're probably going to have a summer storm.  We need the rain.
