I really must apologize to all of you for dropping my blogging for quite a while. I've been in the process of totally re-doing my craft room - AGAIN, because I had "stuff" spread out all over the house, and some of it had just been laying there for years and months. Stuff I had forgotten I even had, or else, knew I had it, but couldn't find it. Soooo.... my sister spent most of the summer up here, and she's a true saint! With her help, I have totally purged my craft room. I took every thing out of it - including the contents of the drawers and shelves ( except for one set of shelves I haven't tackled yet), put it all over the living room floor. Then we went through everything one at a time and decided whether it was a "keeper", "tosser", or "yard sale". It literally took us 2 months to do this, but now, after 2 yard sales and three garbage bags-full of "tossers", I can actually see the floor in my craft room again! My sweet husband had some shelving he wasn't using in his wood shop, and he put them up in my craft room, and I have almost everything stored away, and labeled, in Iris Craft containers from Michaels in these shelves. Such a weight has been lifted from my shoulders! I really should never have to buy another craft product for the rest of my life, but, of course, I will.
The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

ONLY TWO OF US LEFT
Our little group of scrappers is down to only two of us now, and we're sticking it out until tomorrow, which is the very end of our lovely time here in our retreat home. I've gotten two mini-albums done, and I've made pretty good progress on starting my Valentine Mail-Box, the kit I bought last year from Paper Phenomenon. I hate cutting chiboard!! And this project has a lot of chipboard in it, but I'm persevering and I think the worst of it is over. This project will take me quite a few days, as I'll have to finish it at home, but the other two books were basically using the same pattern - just different themes. The weather here has been lovely and spring-like. It'll probably all turn to dismal when I get home. I'm going to get busy straightening out my craft room (Again!!), in fact I'm even going to take an on-line bunch of classes on how to get organized. I bought the Scrap Rack system, and I'm hoping that'll help with my organization. I'll talk to you later. Bye for now - got to use what time I have left creating.

NEXT VIDEO IS UPLOADING FOR TOMORROW.
Hi to all,
Tutorial #2 is uploading tonight, and it's a little longer, so it'll take all night long and part of tomorrow morning. I tried to be prepared and cut some of my paper in advance, but then I lost track of what I was doing and didn't really understand the tiny page of instructions that were printed out. Please forgive my measurement goof-ups - my eyes just don't read tiny print very well. I'll print up the correct measurements on the video, so no one gets too confused. I had to stop and start the video two times, so you can tell it's not one of my best. Perhaps I need to take a day or so off to clean up my craft room again. I hate it when it gets cluttered and I can't find anything! My bad.

Rain, Rain, Go Away
What a miserable day today has been! It absolutely poured down rain all day!! And now tonight they say it's supposed to turn to snow for a little while. I sincerely doubt that, but we do live pretty close to the Great Smokey Mountains, and they often get lots of snow while we in the valley just get flurries. My sister is up here visiting from West Palm Beach, Florida, so she's about to have apoplexy. Ha! Those Floridians have thinner blood, you know. I went over to her house today (she has a vacation house up here), and we watched girlie flicks, baked cookies, and, in general, had good bonding time. It was just one of those kind of days. We have a tin roof on our house, and I lovee to hear the rain on it, especially when I'm inside all comfy and cozy.
I was so excited to see that I have my very first Follower. First Follower, thanks so much, and feel free to leave all the comments you want. You all have seen the horrible pictures of my craft room, well, I want to announce that starting on Friday, my sister, Jan, and I are going to start the organizational process. I dread it, but I know a lot of unused stuff is going to go. I have to give up all those ex- hobby items that are sitting around on my shelves taking up valuable space, while my true hobby's treasured items lay about littering my floor. I'll take pics as the process goes along. Feel free to keep track of my progress.

Still Spending and Updating My Cricut Imagine
I tried to cut a little Christmas box using my Gypsy with my Imagine today, and neither machine seemed to recognize the other, I guess they hadn't met before. Sooooo, anyway, I spent most of this evening going through the up-date process with both machines, and, guess what, they have now met! They actually connected and got along just fine. I got my Christmas box cut with no mess-ups. Actually, I watched one of Robyn's video's from "The Pink Stamper" web site to help me through it. Thanks, Robyn - couldn't have done it without you!!
I told you that I would show you what a wreck my craft room is, so now you see. The one wise thing I did this year was hang the shoe holder up on the door. I really holds a lot of odds and ends that otherwise would just be laying around, but the floor is the worst! I can barely make it to my computer, where I practically live. If anyone has any organizational suggestions please let me know. I need help!
I also went on Custom Crops tonight because they're having a super sale on Cricut cartridges. I spent almost $200. It would have been over that, but I went back through my shopping cart and deleted the most expensive items. They can wait for another day. So now you see my problem. What do I do?
Oh yes, I did NOT get the part in the play I auditioned for, and boy was I relieved. I really don't want to spend every night for the next three months rehearsing. Well, time for bed. Bye.
