About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

WHAT DO YOU GET THE WOMAN WHO HAS EVERYTHING FOR HER BIRTHDAY?

My oldest daughter's birthday is 2 days before Thanksgiving, and I haven't the foggiest idea what to buy her for her birthday.  She already has everything anyone could possibly want, and her taste in jewelry is expensive and personal.  Does anyone have any good ideas for a 44 year old woman with a great career and a wonderful husband and young son - other than a day at a spa away from it all.  She will be arriving in town for Thanksgiving on her birthday, so I want to get her something special and personal, but, for the life of me, I don't know what.  I have gone to the mall, and nothing jumped out at me.  If I don't get any good suggestions, I'll have to go back to the mall and try again.  Ugh!!  I hate to go to the mall at this time of year, don't you?  It's such a Christmas madhouse already.  I usually do all my shopping online, but now I've waited too long and time's a wastin".  I guess I'll put my thinking cap on and go out for lunch - maybe that'll help.  If you have any suggestions, leave comments below, PLEASE!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING - OFF TO FLORIDA

It seems like I'm always going off to Florida, doesn't it?  What can I say, the weather's great down there this time of year, and we couldn't resist the invitation to eat turkey with our daughter and her family.  My sister and brother live there too, so it'll be great fun.  We leave tomorrow, which is the day before Thanksgiving.  I've heard that it's the most highly traveled day of the year, especially with plane flights.  I hope we don't have a problem with flight connections!!  It's going to be a short trip because we'll be coming home in 6 days.  My husband doesn't like to stay away from home any longer.  I don't have that problem, but I guess I'll come home with him.

I have 2 videos uploading, and I hope to get them on You Tube before we leave, so I can post them on my blog.  They're  continuations of my matchbook tutorials.  Be sure to watch them!  And have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
