About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

BIG MISTAKE ON MY OWN E BAY AUCTION!!

I can't believe I did this!  I've sold a lot of things on EBay, and I know how fickle buyers can be, but I stupidly listed a denim jacket I had hand-decorated a few years ago with a starting price of $0.99 (at eBay's suggestion to get a lot of early bids).  Well, guess what it sold for - $0.99!!  Now I am obligated to mail my jacket (see picture below) out to some girl in Colorado and only get less than a dollar for my efforts.  I feel like such a fool, but it was my own fault.  I should have just given the thing away instead of trying to make money off of something I never wear.  Let that be a lesson to everyone, give it away, rather than being greedy.  Here's a picture of the jacket with "Bling":

TEMPORARY E-BAY SELLER - THAT'S ME!

I have decided that I will never again be employed as a nurse - at least not if I can help it!  Therefore, I am selling all of my uniforms on eBay.  In case you're interested in some good deals, my eBay name is "laurakim".  I have sold the first three (for mere pittance), but I am listing some others for this next week.  I had no idea I had so many cute Christmas uniforms.  They were so cute, and hardly worn  at all.  I could have given them to Goodwill, I guess, but I thought maybe they would find better homes on eBay.  I'm also starting to sell some scrapbooking stuff.  Selling on eBay is fun, but I hate messing with the shipping and handling.  I have no idea how much it's going to cost to ship something, so I always underestimate the shipping.  We used to have a store that would sell things on eBay for you (for a percentage, of course), but they closed down.  Now I'm stuck trying to do it myself again.  Eventually I'll get frustrated and just start throwing everything away that I don't use anymore, and there's a lot of it.  I'm a bit of a hoarder of Cricut cartridges, I must admit.  I must have over 80 of them!  I know it's obsessive, but it's like I just have to have them,  especially those that make cute cards.  I'm trying to find some nice way to store all those cartridges that won't take up a lot of space.  Right now I'm storing the cartridges in divided fishing tackle boxes, but they won't hold the booklets, and I can't do without them!  If anyone who visits this blog has some good storage ideas for that many Cricut cartridges with the books, let me know.

STARTING A NEW PROJECT

Hello to all.  I know I haven't written much lately,  and that's because I've started on another album project and it's taking me a while.  I finished my Spring Basket, and now I'm going to try to sell it on eBay.  I made a video showing it because I think you can put videos on eBay now.  We'll see.  The new project I'm working on is "Confessions of a Shopaholic", again inspired by Kathy from "Paper Phenomenon".  I bought one of her kits, so now all I have to do is put follow the instructions and put it together.  I'll show it to you as I go along.  Hope you all enjoyed the Scottish Parade we went to.  LOL!
