About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

I HAVE THIS WEEK TO MYSELF TO CRAFT MY HEART OUT.

My husband left this morning for his annual pheasant hunt in South Dakota, so I have the whole week to myself to watch all my programs on TV (and it won't be football!!) and do all the crafting I want.  Of course, I'm still making and selling my Rainbow Loom bracelets on Etsy.  Here's the most recent one I made using the fishtail pattern and adding a moustache charm in the middle of it:

I can do this while I'm watching TV at night, and still carry on a conversation, if needed.  They're fun.  Don't forget to visit my Etsy store "Findingtherainbow" to see all the bracelets I've made.

Actually, tomorrow morning I have to drive 1/2 way to Nashville to pick up our oldest grandson, who is flying out to South Dakota to meet up with his Papaw for his first pheasant hunting experience.  I know he's probably nervous, because this is a first for him, but he's 15 now, and it's sort of a rite of passage, I guess.  The weather here is really starting to feel like Fall, so we're getting ready to hunker down for the winter and get ready for the Holidays.  What do you all have planned for the Holiday season?  We are having our oldest daughter and her family come up from Florida, and my brother and sister are due to arrive this week-end.  It'll be a fun time-getting to see everyone.  Take care for now, and stay safe.

WELL, I'M TIRED OF BEING BY MYSELF NOW.

I've been here by myself for the past 6 days, and now I'm ready for my husband to come home from his hunting trip.  I've crafted to my heart's content, done some serious shopping on HSN, but now I'm just plain lonesome for my hubby.  I've talked to him 3 or 4 times, and he's having a good time in South Dakota.  I hope he doesn't bring any pheasants back home, though, because I don't like to cook them.  He brought a bunch of feathers back last year for someone who wanted to use them in a wreath, but I'm not much into wreath making.  He even had a pheasant hat made for his mother once - pillbox style, which was in fashion at the time, but she never wore it because she wasn't much of a hat person.  So now it sits in it's original hat box in our living room, preserved in perfect condition.  Anyone want a lovely vintage pheasant hat??

I went to Hobby Lobby tonight to buy some paper and a couple of stamps to make my Christmas cards this year.  I'm going to keep them simple, so I can actually get them done in time.  I managed to make my cards last year, so I think I can do it again this year.  We're going to Florida for Thanksgiving, and I'm looking foreward to that.

I'm watching the movie "Broke Back Mountain" while I'm writing this.  It's one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen.  Heath Ledger was so good in that.  What a loss to the movie business his death was.
