I have been making cards with the new card sets that have come out in Close To My Heart's New Season Expressions catalog for spring. This particular kit I bought was birthday cards, and you make 5 of each. That 15 cards for a little more than $1.50 apiece, and they are so cute. The kit comes with all the paper and supplies and a set of stamps, and complete instructions on how to make each set of cards. I had a great time making some kits up for a party I'm going to have this month. This is my favorite card. I did make the mistake of not doing my stamping before I glued down my middle square, and you can tell my stamping was messy because of that - lesson learned - stamp first, glue last. Here's the card:
The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

WHAT DO YOU GET THE WOMAN WHO HAS EVERYTHING FOR HER BIRTHDAY?
My oldest daughter's birthday is 2 days before Thanksgiving, and I haven't the foggiest idea what to buy her for her birthday. She already has everything anyone could possibly want, and her taste in jewelry is expensive and personal. Does anyone have any good ideas for a 44 year old woman with a great career and a wonderful husband and young son - other than a day at a spa away from it all. She will be arriving in town for Thanksgiving on her birthday, so I want to get her something special and personal, but, for the life of me, I don't know what. I have gone to the mall, and nothing jumped out at me. If I don't get any good suggestions, I'll have to go back to the mall and try again. Ugh!! I hate to go to the mall at this time of year, don't you? It's such a Christmas madhouse already. I usually do all my shopping online, but now I've waited too long and time's a wastin". I guess I'll put my thinking cap on and go out for lunch - maybe that'll help. If you have any suggestions, leave comments below, PLEASE!

HAPPY BIRTDAY TO ME, LA, LA, LA!!
Today I am officially 68 years old. I used to think that was ancient, but I don't anymore. There's still a lot of life in me yet, and I intend to live it. In just a few minutes, I'm going to go upstairs and beautify myself to attend my 50th high school reunion - Lake Worth High School, Class of 1962. I was voted "Most Likely to Suceed" - although they didn't say succeed at what. LOL! I guess I have succeeded: I've given birth to two lovely daughters, my husband and I have been happily (for the most part) married for 44 years, we have 4 healthy grandchildren, I graduated from college with a nursing degree and stuck with it until I was old enough to retire. I have satisfied my urge to be an actress (although I would have liked to have done more in that field), I've traveled to numerous countries, my favorite being Africa, I have fought breast cancer and won, and, lastly, I am happy with my life and my faith - that's probably the most important. My years have truly been blessed.
