About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

A HOME AND GARDEN SHOW

Yesterday I went with 12 other ladies from a local church to the annual Home and Garden Show in Knoxville. It made me feel like spring wasn't too far away, with all the lovely planting arrangements and flowers for sale. I took a couple of pictures of some of the more clever displays. The electric railroad was really terrific and had three trains all running in different directions. The human conductor sat by the controls at the side and talked to people while his trains ran. The other photo is of a display of a little village with moss used to make everything look like grass and lots of decorative stones and rocks - sort of like a fancy terrarium. While we were inside, the weather took a turn for the worse, and we about froze to death on the way home in the bus. I had left my jacket in my car, because the sun was nice and warm when we left. Today it snow flurried off and on all day, so spring certainly isn't here yet.
