My Monday nights have been so vacant lately without my favorite guy on TV - Richard Castle.....and, of course, his true love Kate Becket. I love this series!! The show went on hiatus for the Christmas season, but it's back now, and I enjoyed watching tonight's episode instead of the BCS Championship Bowl Game that my husband is watching. It's for the national championship between Alabama and Notre Dame. 'Bama is running all over Notre Dame, so it was kind of boring. Now that college football is over, we just have the NFL playoffs and then the SuperBowl to go. Then it will be full-blown basketball season and almost spring. How time does fly when you think of it in terms of the sports seasons!
As I mentioned in my blog last night, I was selling my birds and the cage that my husband had made me. I spent and hour and a half this afternoon catching all the birds, treating them for air sac mites (a common problem with Gouldian finches), and putting them in a big travel cage. Then we totally cleaned up the big glass and wood cage. I wanted it to leave our house looking good, and it did. The family came to get the cage and all 15 of my birdies at 2:30 this afternoon. Most of the birds had grown up in our house, and I was sad to see them go, but glad to be rid of the feathers and the seed on the floor. I am going to get a cute little parakeet to replace them. My husband has agreed to that.
The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.
