About Me

My photo
I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.

LEARNING TO TEACH ONLINE CLASSES

A few posts ago I mentioned that I was asked to teach scrapbooking (or cardmaking) on "Curious.com", which is a learning web site, so I have uploaded some of the videos I've made and now I'm in the process of trying to turn them into lessons that have to be in sections, with questions after each section.  It took me three tries to get one 15 minute card-making tutorial up in the form of a lesson.  It was the pop-up flower card that I had posted on You Tube, but I had a really rough time sectioning it off into separate parts.  I was using so much of my Internet bandwidth that I finally had to go to the library to use their Internet for free.  I have to pay extra if I go over.  After spending the day there, I finally "published" my lesson on "A Pop-Up Flower Card".  Now you can go on Curious.com, click on the "Learn" button and try to find my lesson.  I couldn't find it, after all my hard work, maybe you can.  If you do, let me know.

While I was suffering at the library, this white bearded guy sitting next to me kept trying to spout fanatical religious ideas to me about Catholics trying to take over the world.  Then his cell phone would ring, and he would say the same things over and over to whoever was on the phone.  I had earphones on, but I can honestly say, the man was a crazy fanatic - on top of that, he shouldn't have been talking on a cell phone in the public library!  On my way out, I told him that he had irritated me to no end.  I guess I didn't show much Christian love there, but I don't think he was truly a Christian anyway.
