Right now I'm just killin' time around here in my own house - waiting until I can go down to Florida in a couple of weeks. It's summertime here, and besides my scrapbooking, we really don't have much going on. I've finally caught up on my sleep from being a college student for a week, and now that all the laundry is done, and my mess is pretty much cleaned up, I don't have a lot that I have to do. Of course, I could fiddle around cleaning house all the time, but that's just not me. My husband went on a fishing trip out in the Gulf of Mexico and came home with about 300 lbs. of fish that had to be bagged up and put in our two small freezers. He gave a lot of it away, but kept most of the red snapper and blackfin tuna. I am not a fish lover, but he likes to grill it, and, I must admit, the snapper we had last night was pretty good. Hopefully we don't have to eat fish more than once a week, though, because I will balk at that! My sister is still here. In fact, we are going to drive down to Florida in her car. Usually I fly, but this will be nice with minimal hassle. I will spend a week with our daughter, and then I'm bringing back our grandson, Cade, to spend a week up in Tennessee with us. Then his parents will come up to get him. They're going to bring their new RV, so I think they'll probably do some camping too. They also have a new puppy now named Watson, and it'll be interesting to see how he gets along with our good old farm dogs, Feisty and Nick. Watson is a little "maltipoo", so he'll probably be scared of our dogs.
Before I know it the summer will be over and we'll be going into Fall again. How's that for a depressing thought.
The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.
