I hope everyone exercised their privilege to vote today. I did, and so did my husband. It was funny, because, while he was standing in line to vote, someone came up and offered to give him a free flu shot. Apparently there was a flu shot clinic set up at the polling place, so people could get "vacc'd and vote". My husband hadn't had his flu shot yet, so he took them up on it (no charge if you are on certain insurances), and he got a sticker that said "I got vaccinated and voted". I thought that was pretty clever, because people always think of a million reasons why they don't get a flu shot. This way everyone was practically a captive audience! Of course, it wasn't mandatory, but most people took them up on it.
I had to go in for my mammogram yesterday. It was a 6 month's follow-up, because there had been a small lymph node seen on my last film and the doctor wanted to re-check it. Mammograms always give me an anxiety attack because I had breast cancer in 1996, and had a mastectomy and chemotherapy, and had to wear a wig for nearly a year. I actually came through the experience quite well, but I certainly don't want to go through it again! Anyway, the mammograms were fine yesterday, so I breathed a sign of relief.
Well, nothing's good on TV - just election returns, so I think I'm going to go to bed.
The writer speaks of the common occurences in the life of anyone who scrapbooks regularly and finds that she (or he) has spent more on scrapbooking tools than on food for the family. There are musings about a hobby that creates a mess wherever you work at it, and as long as there are unscrapped photographs anywhere in the house, it never ends. And there are always new and wonderful products coming out that one HAS to have!
About Me
- Judy G.
- I was raised in South Florida back in the years when it was a peaceful and wonderfully safe place to live. We lived a mile from the beach and could ride our bikes over the intercoastal bridge right to the best beach around. All my years of growing up I was a competitive swimmer and belonged to AAU. I granduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in nursing. I am recently retired but I'm thinking of going back to work to support my hobbies.
